Why is it significant that his knickers come from Primark?

camel, you need to separate the debt total (completely created & cultivated by them) to the working capital. there's room for them to strengthen the team, they've also lost two more of the highest earners in recent months so bullshit about being skint won't wash. the savings they've made since kieran maguire's hammers chat breakdown about finances is substantial, unfortunately they think every fan has a brain like a goldfish and forgets facts

Re: Jesse Lingard 'wants to stay at Manchester United'
He isn't going to go for £25m to anyone.

I wouldn't go over £15m for him, possibly up to £20m with add-ons. Anything over that and it's too much.

Takashi

'bullshit. they (THEY) made a big deal about the money available for a striker in january.'

You believe them! You are daft.

He might throw a bone with some South American loan that will probably get you wetting your Primark knickers with excitement, but anyone with half a brain cell can see nothing decent will arrive.

Re: Jesse Lingard 'wants to stay at Manchester United'
According to The Times, West Ham will make another attempt to sign Manchester United's Jesse Lingard on a permanent deal.

United reportedly value the 28-year-old at £25m.

Lingard scored nine goals in 16 games on loan at the Hammers last season.

Let's be clear

- We are completely skint and haven't got a pot to piss in
- He wants to stay at Man U
- Said is firing and now it is his chance

Lingard is a no.

Re: Jesse Lingard 'wants to stay at Manchester United'
He put some effort in to gain a better contract and hopefully get into the England squad.

As in doing a ''Sinclair ''

Now he will be happy to sit on the bench and play a bit part in any team.

do we need that ?

Re: Jesse Lingard 'wants to stay at Manchester United'
Don't need him, give Benrahma a decent run and bring in a couple of defenders and a striker (on loan if necessary).

goose 9:55 Tue Aug 17
Re: Jesse Lingard 'wants to stay at Manchester United'
It’s also supposition on your part that we haven’t made a bid.

There’s no doubt we’ll have discussed a deal with MU.

goose 9:53 Tue Aug 17
Re: Jesse Lingard 'wants to stay at Manchester United'
Of course he wants a long term contract ASAP - that’s just common sense for someone in his line of work. One bad injury and he’s done and with minimal insurance pay out.

Same way loaning him out makes no sense to MU.

I’ll have a £50 bet with you for charity that he doesn’t go anywhere on loan.

Nagel 9:43 Tue Aug 17
Re: Jesse Lingard 'wants to stay at Manchester United'
You seem to be wilfully ignoring two things:

1) We haven't put in a bid for him
2) If he decides he wants to go on a free to get more money then he will. End of.

All this stuff about him wanting a long term contract ASAP and that he definitely wants to come here is all supposition on your part, isn't it?

goose 9:29 Tue Aug 17
Re: Jesse Lingard 'wants to stay at Manchester United'
They know we want him and he wants to come here, why throw that money away?

Also, let’s say he wants to run down his contract & snaps his knee ligaments (while on loan) in November - no one will offer him a contract in January.

He’ll want to security of a permanent move and long term contract sorted ASAP.

Unless he has said he is going to see out his contract, they cant sell him if he doesnt want to leave.

goose 9:12 Tue Aug 17
Re: Jesse Lingard 'wants to stay at Manchester United'
Or they could just sell him to us right now for £15m. Plus whatever they throw in for add one or sell on clauses.

Plenty of clubs will have him for that.

Loaning him is just giving away £15m.

Nagel 8:17 Tue Aug 17
Re: Jesse Lingard 'wants to stay at Manchester United'
"No way are Manchester United loaning us a player in the last year of his contract - it makes no sense."

Sure it does. If Lingard says he's not signing a new contract and he won't be sold to anyone as he wants to go on a free transfer, and if Man Utd know he wouldn't play much for them anyway, then they're better off with the £10m or so they get from a loan fee and saved wages.

Re: Jesse Lingard 'wants to stay at Manchester United'
With regard to the Lingard versus Benrahma debate, it's worth bearing in mind that Said will be missing for January and possibly some of February as well on international duty with Algeria at the AFCON - Algeria are the holders so are likely to go deep in the competition.

Alfs 5:51 Tue Aug 17
Re: Jesse Lingard 'wants to stay at Manchester United'
It's an open secret that he is 99% coming back amongst the media but until the deal is over the line they can't report on it.

Watch MOTD 2 after our game, Danny Murphy almost blurted it out when talking about Benny.

From what I've been told, Man U doesn't want to let him go until deadline day, as he would improve our team, which could end up being detrimental to their league position.

I can see the logic, and it's refreshing to think that the Red Devils (wankiest name ever) see us as competition.

He had covid and couldn't be picked.

Oh and how would he be with us already we haven't put a bid in.

Re: Jesse Lingard 'wants to stay at Manchester United'
Not so sure I want him now, as good as he was last season. He faded in the last 4 or 5 games and didn't have quite the desire as he showed in the first few games.

9 Goals in his first 10 games was mighty impressive, 0 goals in the final 6 made me wonder a little about his desire.

If he really wanted to be with us I think it would have happened by now and we don't want him to come reluctantly.

He didn't even make the match day squad last Saturday, unless he has an injury it must tell him all he needs to know about his situation at Man U
